Hydrogen production could be placed in places where Shell and Hydro both consume relatively renewable gas, Eriksen said.

“Hydro Havrand and Shell can work towards a common goal of establishing integrated hydrogen value chains and ultimately a strong global market for hydrogen,” said Elisabeth Brinton, Shell’s executive vice president for renewable energies and energy solutions, in a press release.
